OnmostPC3LEscreens,thebottomlineofthedisplayidentifiesthefunctionofeachofthe
buttonsbeneaththedisplay.Wecallthesebuttonssoftbuttons,becausetheydodifferentthings
dependingonwhat’scurrentlyshowinginthedisplay.
InProgramandQuickAccessmodes,youcanchangeoctaveswith
theOctav‐andOctav+
buttonsunderthedisplay.TheInfosoftbuttonshowsyourelevantdetailsaboutthecurrent
item.TheXpose‐/Xpose +buttonsareashortcutforquicktranspositioninsemitone(halfstep)
increments.YoucanusethemtotransposetheentirePC3LEasmuchasthreeoctavesup
or
down.Thetoplineofthedisplayshowsthecurrentamountoftransposition(Xpose).Pressboth
Xposebuttonssimultaneouslytoreturntranspositiontozero.
ThePanicbutton(oradoublepressofShiftandEnteratthebottomofthealphanumeric
keypad)sendsanAllNotesOffmessageandan
AllControllersOffmessage—bothtothe
PC3LEandoverall16MIDIchannels.Youwon’tneeditoften,butit’snicetohave.

MostoftheincludedfactoryprogramsuseV.A.S.T.synthesis,whichplayupto32layersof
samples,routedthroughdigitalsignalprocessing.
KB3 Programs
KB3(organ)programsdifferfromV.A.S.T.programsinthattheydon’tplaysamples.Instead
theyrelyonoscillatorsthatmimicthetonewheelsusedinmanypopularorgans.Becauseof
theirarchitecture,KB3programsrequiredifferentprocessingwithinthePC3LE.KB3programs
canplayonlyonasinglechannelata
time,whichyoudesignate(V.A.S.T.programswillwork
fineonthatchannel,too).
