V.A.S.T. and KB3 Programs
KB3 Effects And Real-time Controls
Youhavereal‐timecontrolovermanycomponentsofKB3programsdirectlyfromthefront
panel.Theknobsemulatethedrawbarsthataresoessentialtothetonewheelsound,whilethe
assignableswitchesabovethemcancontroltheKB3effects:Leslie,vibrato,chorus,and
percussion.UsetheShiftbuttonnext
toeachsetofcontrolsinordertoaccessalloftheavailable
parameters.
WhenusingaKB3programinProgrammode,theassignableknobsandswitchesalways
controlKB3effects.InSet upmodetheassignableswitchesmuteandunmutezonesbydefault.
Ifyouwanttheassignableswitchesto
controlthefunctionsofaKB3programinasetup,youcan
editthesetupandautomaticallyassigntheKB3controlsusingtheKB3CTLsoftbuttoninthe
SetupEditor.SeeSetControlsKB3(KB3CTL) on page 7‐66.
Drawbars In KB3 Mode
Oneofthestandardperformancefeaturesofmanytonewheelorgansistheset
ofdrawbarsfor
emulatingthestopsonapipeorgan.Movingthedrawbarscontrolstheamplitudeofeitherthe
fundamentalsortheharmonicsofthenotes(outtoincrease amplitude,intodecreaseit.)
ThePC3LE’sknobsserveastheninedrawbarsfoundonmosttonewheelorgans.Turningthe
knobs
downistheequivalentofpushingthedrawbarsin(removingfundamentalsor
harmonics.)ThetablebelowshowshowthePC3LE’sknobsrelatetostandarddrawbar
functions.
KB3 Mode Effects Buttons (Assignable Switches)
WhenusingaKB3program,thePC3LE’sassignableswitchescontrolKB3effects.TheLEDsof
theassignableswitchesindicatethestatusofthevariouseffects
forthecurrentKB3program.
ThisstatusissavedaspartofeachKB3program.Youcanchangetheeffectsinrealtimeby
pressingthebuttons(orbysendingtheappropriateMIDIControllervaluesfromanexternal
MIDIcontroller,seeTable 6‐3onpage6‐8fordetails.)
On/offsettingsoftheassignable
switchesforaKB3programarenotautomaticallysaved;the
switchesreturntotheirprogrammed onoroffstatethenexttimeyouselecttheprogram.If
you’vemadechangestotheirstatethatdifferfromthosesavedwiththeprogram,theSave
buttonwilllight.PresstheSavebutton
tosavechangestothecurrentprogram,ortorenamethe
programandsaveitunderanewID#.WhenchoosinganID#,pressthe‐and+buttons
simultaneously(belowtheAlphaWheel)tojumptotheorigina lID#ifyouwouldliketoreplace
theoriginalprogram.Ifyouchange
thestateoftheassignableswitcheswhileintheProgram
Editor,thePC3LEwillpromptyoutosavethechangeswhenexitingtheProgramEditor.Ifyou
don’tlikethechanges,youcanexitwithoutsaving,andtheprogramwillreverttoitsprevious
settings.
