The Program Editor
keymaps.Foreachoscillator,itscoarsepitchparameterisnamedbyanabbreviationofthe
oscillatornamefollowedby“Pch.”Forexample,thecoarsepitchparameterforasawwave
oscillatorwillbecalledSawPch.OntheDSPCTLsubpageforanyoscillatorPch.parameter,
youcanadjustfine
pitchbycentsandHertz,aswellasKeyTrkandVelTrksettingsforpitch.
Note:Besuretodifferentiatebetweenthedifferentpitchparameters,eachusedeitheronlyforkeymapsor
onlyforKVAoscillators.ThePitchparameteronthetopleftoftheDSPCTLandDSPMODpagesalways
appearsin
VA S T programsbutonlyaffectsthepitchofkeymaps.IfaKVAoscillatorisbeingused,this
Pitchparameterwillhavenoaffectonthelayer’spitch,inwhichcasetheoscillatorPch.parameter
describedabovemustbeusedtocontrolthepitchoftheoscillator.
Setting KVA Oscillator Type
ThePC3LEcomeswith
22differentKVAoscillators.Thereare11highqualityanti‐aliased
oscillators(freeofdigitalartifacts,)and11oscillatorsthatexhibitsomealiasing(digitalartifacts)
inthehigheroctaves.Theanti‐aliasedoscillatorsuseupmoreDSPresourcesthantheoneswith
aliasing,buttheimprovementinsoundqualityisquite
noticeable.Westronglyrecommend
usingtheanti‐aliasedoscillatorsformostapplications.
ThetablesbelowlistKVAoscillatorsbytypeandfunctionblocksize.Beforesettinganoscillator,
youmustchooseanalgorithmwhichincludesablockthatmatchestheblocksizeforthe
oscillatorthatyouwishtouse.See

thedesiredblocksize,highlighttheblockandusethealphawheeltoscrollthroughthe

an8blockoscillatorthatrequirestheuseoftwolayers(4
blockseach)andtheAltInputfeatureofcascademode.Seebelowfordetailsonsettingupthe
SyncSquareoscillator.
Note:Ifyouputmorethanoneoscillatorinanalgorithm,youwillonlyheartheoutputof
thelast
oscillatorinthealgorithm,unlessanalgorithmisusedtoroutetheearlieroscillatoraroundthelast
oscillatorandintoaMIXfunctionblock,orifthelastoscillatorprocessesitsaudio input.
