Song Editor: The EVENT Page
Toscrol lthrough theevents,makesurethelocation(BarandBeat,inthefirstcolumn)is
highlighted.UsetheAlphaWheel,theUpandDowncursorbuttons,orthePlus/Minus
buttons.Asyouscrollthroughtheevents,eacheventisexecutedbythesequencer.Inthecaseof
Noteevents,
youwillhearthenoteplayed,althoughthe durationwillbeshort.Ifyouhave
scrolledthroughaSustain(MIDIController64)messagewithanOnvaluethenyouwillhear
thenotesustainasifthesustainpedalwasdepressed.Thenotewillcontinuetosustainuntilyou
scroll
throughaSustainmessagewithavalueofOff.
Youcanalsojumpdirectlytoaspecificbarandbeatbytypingthebarnumberandbeatnumber,
thenpressingEnter.Keepinmindifyouhavecontrollerorprogramdataprevioustothepoint
thatyoujumpto,thoseevents
maynothavebeenexecutedandyoumayhearunexpected
results.Forexample,ifyouhaveprogramchangesatbar1and bar8,andyoujumpfrombar1
tobar9,anynotesyouscrol lthroughwillbeplayedwiththeprogramchangefrombar1.
Initial Program, Volume, Pan
Atthetopoftheeventlistforeachtrack,youcanviewandchangetheinitialprogram,volume
andpansettingsforthecurrenttrack.SeeSongMode:TheMAINPage on page 10‐1fordetailson
initialsettingsforprogram,volume,andpan.Eachoftheseparameterscanbeset
toNONEby
entering0onthealphanumericpadandthenpressingtheminusbuttontofindNONE.
Location
ThefirstcolumnrepresentstheBarandBeatLocationsofthedifferenteventsinasong.Scroll
throughtheeventsontheselectedtrack(s)withtheAlphaWheelorenterinaspecificBarand
BeatonthealphanumericbuttonpadtojumptoeventsoccurringonthatBeat.Aquick
wayto
jumptotheEndpointinatrackistopress9999andthenEnteronthealphanumericbuttonpad.
Bar, Beat, and Tick
Bar,Beat,andTickareeditableparametersforeachevent.Theydeterminewhenanevent
happensrelativetotheothereventswithinthesong.
Event Type and Value
TheEventTypeandValueregiondisplaystheMIDIeventtype(andrelatedinformation)ateach
Event‐listlocationinthe song.Differenteventtypesdisplaydifferentkindsofinformation,and
havedifferenteditablevalues.
Theeventtypeistheleft‐mostfield.Youcanhighlightthisfieldandchangethe
eventtype.
MIDInoteeventsaredenotedbya“>”fol lowedbythenotename.The“>”iseffectivelythe
eventtypefornotes,andtochange theeventtype,highlightthe“>.”Tochangethenote,
highlightthenotename.
