TheMIDIReceivepageiswhereyoudefinethePC3LE’sresponsetoincomingMIDIsignals
(withoneexceptionpertainingtoQuickAccessmode,whichwe’llexplainlater).
Basic Channel
ThebasicchanneldetermineswhichchannelwillalwaysbeavailabletoreceiveMIDI
information.DependingontheMIDIreceivemode(below),theBasicchannelmaybethe only
receivingchannel,oroneofseveral.
MIDI Receive Mode (MIDI Mode)
TheMIDIModeparameterdeterminestheMIDIreceivingcapabilitiesofthePC3LE.Whenset
toOmni,thePC3LErespondstoincomingMIDIeventsonallMIDIchannels,andplaysthem
onthecurrentchannel.Thisisnormallyusedfordiagnosticpurposesonly.
AtasettingofPoly, thePC3LEresponds
onlytoeventsthataresentonthesamechannelasthe
PC3LE’scurrentMIDIchannel(theonedisplayedonthetoplineoftheProgrammodepage).In
Polymode,thecurrentlyselectedchannelisalwaysthebasicchannel,soifyouchangechannels,
thebasicchannelchangesaccordingly.
With
avalueofMulti(thedefault),thePC3LErespondstoeventsonallactivechannels.Thisis
themodeyou’llusewhenyou’ redrivingthePC3LEwithasequencer,sinceyoucanplaya
differentprogramoneachchannel.
